Essential People Project, Episode Three

In this episode, Cedric Masengere, a manufacturing associate at Moderna, talks about what it’s like to work on a possible vaccine during the pandemic- including the profound sense of purpose, his mother’s pride, the blessings of failure, and how he got started all those years ago, as an eight-year-old mixing chemicals in his bedroom.

Thanks to Derrick Sutton, who works in the cafeteria at Moderna, and nominated Cedric for this interview; story ambassador Kamal Oliver for doing the interview, between working his day job at the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, his night job at Walgreens, and his all-the-time job as the father of a new infant; and Jacob Lopez, a sophomore at New Mission High School, for helping us edit the video.
